Shirley Ledford Duncan earned her M.A. in voice and conducting from the Southern Baptist Seminary, Louisville, KY, and began Doctorate Work at Northwestern University School of Music, Evanston, IL. After moving to Greenville in 1958 to teach voice at Furman University, she served a total of 41 years as Director of Music in various churches.
She is an Honorary Life Member of the Greenville Chorale, The Music Club of Greenville, and now the Greenville Woman’s Music Club
